Re: US state Bar recognises attorney internet advertising is different
by Anonymous
Total Attorney's efforts to describe what happened in Hawaii as a "victory" is misleading. Just because a cop lets you off the hook without giving you a ticket for speeding is not a "victory for speeders" or formal recognition that speeding is legal (after the cop "investigates" the reading on his radar detector). It means (more likely than not) the cop didn't want to do the associated paperwork, went to high school with the driver, realized the driver was a war veteran, enjoyed the driver's cleavage, etc. etc. Same thing applies here. Total Attorneys piled Hawaii's inbox and the prosecutor backed down. No state (Hawaii included) has afforded meaningful legal analysis "approving" of the Total Attorneys business model. The first state to provide a comprehesive legal assessment of this sort will be Connecticut. Hearings are scheduled in November and a decision should follow within 60 days. If what happened in Hawaii is a "victory" ... it will most certainly be short lived. As goes Connecticut, so also shall the nation ~ Zenas Zelotes, Esq.
