Because it's not worth anything to anyone else! What fits our needs exactly may be completely useless for anyone else - hence paying £30k for a system which does everything for everyone, then paying more for someone to configure it to do what you want it to.. My point is, the best people to know what YOU need such a system to do is YOU and YOU should expect your IT department to put the effort in to solving your problems rather then doing a tender process, creating a payment requisition then failing to take responsibility when it does not work/do what you need. I was not trying to be clever. I do know that there are companies out there with very small IT budgets but why would those comapnies pay the DD suppliers a fortune when employing a capable IT department would cost the same but be far more effective for the company..
