Knee Jerk's look at the Short Term - No new Porche!
by Anonymous
Shock!! ...Well there we go ... The UK's Ministry of Justice can save £49.3 million by cancelling an electronic system - but indirectly spends millions in "banking investments" (it's actually all the same - our - budget; NHS and our blessed armed forces will be next to be cut ...) Actually, given Government IT projects ROI, the £49.3M is about about £4.93 in real deliverables. Of course, I suspect they've no idea what the current inefficiencies cost them (us) every year... Short termism, as usual. They could almost be a professional law firm. They can only look so far ahead; it's all about IT 'cost', never investment... Hardware/Telecoms/Software spend down!! Good ... invest in leveraging and making use of the the stuff you have. We may have 1000 jobs lost in the legal industry by Christmas? I do feel sorry for the people who are affected, but get a grip ... Manufacturing at Longbridge lost 5000 in a week with almost no warning. I don't recall the legal profession ever being made a charity... PEP may go down, but tough shit! Live with it. Or off your savings ... Oh? you spent it on another new Porche? Tough Shit again!
