The battle of the consolidators continues...
This morning LexisNexis announced that Bindmans LLP has selected Axxia DNA as its new practice management system – the system will also supply the firm's document management, case management, reporting and business process workflow capabilities. Commenting on the decision Kambiz Jahanshahi, the IT Manager at Bindmans LLP, said "When we were informed that our existing IRIS AIM practice management software was being discontinued, we investigated the market for a single integrated solution. Compared to all the other similar solutions, DNA instantly ticked all the boxes – for fee-earners, secretarial staff and the finance team alike."
• In a related development, we are hearing reports of more senior management changes within the LexisNexis legal systems team. As soon as we know more, we will post the information up on this blog.

This is good win for Axxia, LexisNexis seem to be in good position to take alot of Iris sites and do well in 2009. LexisNexis seem to be positioning Axxia to go after Law firms and VisualFiles to go after Public and private sector legal teams.
With rumored release of Project Manila which will be rebranded and called "Visualfiles Streamline" in 2009 (a .NET product which looks impressive), it could be good year for LexisNexis. Re: Now Axxia take out an AIM site

Charles you correct regarding management changes at LexisNexis, Kate Holden and her senior team have been politely shown the door. James Parker is new head of Customer support both heads of Axxia and Visualfiles Support will report to him.
On related subject Mark Armstrong (VisualFiles Sales Director) has also left, which means all the senior managment team at VisualFiles before LexiNexis took over have now gone. Re: Re: Now Axxia take out an AIM site
We're not sure if she's been shown the door or moved on to another part of the empire. Tim Cheadle is still the general manager of the legal IT arm in the UK and we've got a briefing meeting with him and LexisNexis UK head honcho Josh Bottomley scheduled for next week. As soon as we have the full story, you'll see it here.

Tim's a nice enough guy but somebody else with little or no industry experience.
In his own words (although I am not sure I understand much if it) Tim has a background that encompasses technology companies in Fortune 500, FTSE 250, spin-off and pre-IPO environments having lived and worked in UK, France, The Netherlands and North America. He has a strong pedigree in strategic management, product marketing and business development with relevant work experience in Storage, Enterprise Resource Planning, Document Management & Enterprise Application Modernization markets. |
