What is believed to be the UK's first, free-to-attend, event focused on green technology practices and sustainable computing – Green IT Expo 2008 – will take place at the Barbican Exhibition Centre* in London on 4th and 5th November.
The blurb says "the two-day event will be a unique combination of seminars, supplier briefings and networking opportunities. Seminars will cover the key challenges for the industry, the latest legislation and government directives and significant developments at local and international level."
The keynote line up includes Chris Chant, CIO at the Department for the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA); Steve Bowden, Chief Technology Officer at Green Computing, IBM; Nigel Montgomery, Research Director at AMR Research; and, Miriam Kennet, Director at The Green Economics Institute.
Further information regarding Green IT Expo including a full programme, can be found at www.greenitexpo.co.uk
* The Barbican Exhibition Centre – home to all those SOLEX events in days of yore – is an appropriate location as the venue is itself a recycled car park.

Memories? - You are having a laugh. Most of us who enjoyed the exhibition cannot remember more than the first morning.

True. Those were days, stands that were busy all day and real leads.
parking wardens at the breakdown, and always the last punter on the stand at the end of the day wanted a 2 user system for £500 including hardware. Re: Green IT expo at the Barbican in November
